I didn't start Team Murphy Media because I dreamed of being a newsman. I started it because I got tired of watching the news lie to people I love.
For years I watched it happen — the screaming panels, the breaking-news banner over nothing, the same story told two opposite ways depending on which channel you turned on. It wasn't news anymore. It was noise with a logo on it. Bullshit, drama, and politics dressed up as information. And people ate it up, because there was nothing else on the menu.
I complained about it like everybody else does. Then came the pandemic years.
Starting in 2020, I watched the news get its hooks into my parents. These are good people. Smart people. People who raised me to think for myself. And the more they watched, the more they changed. Every day a new fear. Every night a new reason to panic. They stopped sounding like my parents and started sounding like the television. They turned into loonies — straight up lost their minds over what the news was feeding them — and there wasn't a damn thing I could say to pull them back out of it.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
So I sat there. Stewing. And stewing. And one day it hit me: stewing doesn't fix anything. Bitching about the news doesn't change the news. So I made a decision — I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to start my own news company.
Not another noise machine. The opposite of one. News the way it happened. No spin. No scare tactics. No agenda hiding under the headline. Just what happened, where it happened, and why it matters to the people who actually live here. If I don't know something, I'll tell you I don't know. If somebody won't comment, I'll tell you they haven't responded yet instead of making up a reason why. You get the facts straight — and then YOU decide what to think, because you're grown, and you don't need me or anybody else doing your thinking for you.
That's Team Murphy Media. That's why it exists. I couldn't stop the big networks from brainwashing the people I care about. But I can build the thing I wish they'd been watching.
Read us once. Compare us to what you've been fed. You're not going back.
